Uncle Pennybags
Middle-aged conservative with libertarian leanings who finds modern liberalism to be incredibly naive and dangerous, I respect old-time liberals who were genuinely interested in keeping this nation strong and helping ALL the people. I'm a staunch defender of Capitalism. Capitalism and rich people do not oppress the rest of us. Far from it, capitalism has brought the highest level of prosperity to those countries that practice it. However I realize that capitalism can be abused and does have it's excesses, and therefore gov't regulation is required, but it should be done sparingly, and only when there is no other alternative. Far from being worried about what the rest of the world thinks of the USA, my opinion is they should worry about what we think of them. Other countries need us as their guardians and market. We do not need them.
If Biden confiscates so-called "Assault weapons" like he said he wanted to, is this what the haul will look like?
And Dems, don't deny it. Biden absolutely said he wanted to confiscate assault weapons in an interview he did last year.

8 AntwortenPoliticsvor 7 StundenIf the authors of the 2nd Amendment wanted guns to be regulated, why would they specifically add that the right "shall not be infringed"?
at the end?
Wouldn't that be contradictory?
If not, then what shouldn't be infringed?
4 AntwortenPoliticsvor 1 TagSo what were Biden's big gun control announcements today? Doesn't it look like a big bund of nothing?
Biden confirmed he was putting a gun control advocate in charge of the ATF. No surprise there.
He asked the Justice Department to see if there was anything they could do to require serial numbers on "ghost guns." No actual action, just look into it. To explain this, the part of the gun that is considered the actual firearm, often the frame, can be sold about 80% finished and the work must be completed by the buyer, and then they also buy all the other parts and put it all together to make a functioning firearm. Currently these do not have serial numbers, and Biden asked the Justice Department to look for a way to require one.
Lastly, Biden has asked the Justice Department to develop a guideline Red Flag law that states could copy. This could be a good or bad thing from either point of view depending on how well they craft one.
In essence, it's all a steaming pile of nothing.
3 AntwortenPoliticsvor 1 TagWas Biden the one guilty of "Neanderthal thinking?" It's been 5 weeks since 2 red states ended their lockdowns and mask mandates.?
Still no increase in COVID cases.
Mississippi ended their lockdowns and mask mandate on March 3rd. 5 weeks later, still no increase in new COVID cases.

Texas ended their lockdowns and mask mandate on March 10th. 4 weeks later, still no increase in new COVID cases.
4 AntwortenPoliticsvor 1 TagWhat other majority black cities should businesses harm in their quest to be woke?
Major League Baseball, pulled the All Star Game out of Atlanta, GA this year in response to Georgia's new voter integrity laws.
Atlanta is a city where over 50% of the population is black, so MLB is punishing blacks more than anyone else in their quest to be woke. Hotels, restaurants, taxis, Uber drivers, and stores that are either black owned or that hire many blacks will be the ones hardest hit.
In addition, MLB moved the All Star Game to Denver, CO, a state which arguably has even more voter restrictions than Georgia.
4 AntwortenPoliticsvor 1 TagNow that law-abiding black people are buying guns more than ever before, will that be the kiss of death for gun control?
https://thehill.com/changing-america/respect/diver...
More and more black people are waking up and buying guns to protect themselves. How are they going to feel when Democrats try and prevent them from buying those guns?
3 AntwortenPoliticsvor 1 TagSo how bad will BLM riots be after Officer Chauvin is found not guilty of murdering George Floyd?
Yesterday the Chauvin defense team absolutely spanked the prosecution when cross-examining the prosecution's own witnesses, and got them to admit that was Chauvin was doing was reasonable under the circumstances.
After the questioning, the defense team indicated they may be calling back one of the state's witnesses, but for the defense!
I'm simplifying this, but read the full write-up of the trial yesterday here.
8 AntwortenLaw & Ethicsvor 2 TagenCan any Democrat explain why requiring a photo ID is racist? Is it because you believe minorities are too stupid or inept to get them?
If it is strictly because a photo ID is harder to get when poor, well, aren't there an awful lot of poor white people too?
And while we're at it, if you really believe requiring a photo ID is racist, wouldn't it be racist to require one to open a bank account? Or cash a check? Last I checked, minorities need to do those things too.
2 AntwortenPoliticsvor 2 TagenIf you had a step-parent, was your relationship with them a good one or bad one?
I had two step-parents.
My step-father was an amazing man and I'm thankful for the relationship we formed and the experiences we had and what he taught me to this day.
My step-mother on the other hand, was a terrible step-parent. She made it quite clear early on that she wanted nothing to do with me and when I visited the home she and my father shared, she hid out in her bedroom for almost the entire time.
2 AntwortenFamilyvor 3 TagenIf requiring a voter ID is racist, doesn't that make anything requiring an ID racist?
If someone wants to open a bank account and can't because they can't get an ID, isn't that racist?
If someone wants to travel and needs an ID to board the plane, train or bus and they can't get an ID, isn't that racist?
If they want to buy tobacco or alcohol and can't because they can't get an ID, isn't that racist?
I can go on with dozens of more things including exercising other rights like our 2nd Amendment right. Why isn't it racist to require an ID for all these other things???
4 AntwortenPoliticsvor 3 TagenIs serving on Navy submarines the hardest job in any of the services?
I mean you are basically crammed with lots of others in a metal tube under the water for months at a time. You never see the sun or get any fresh air during that time. Space is at a premium. Some sailors don't even get their own bunk and have to share. After the first two weeks, no more fresh food. Just canned or frozen food.
I'd likely go stark raving made on my second or third tour.
To those who do serve on a sub, you guys are crazy and tougher than I am!
1 AntwortMilitaryvor 3 TagenSo...what is a good Yahoo Answers alternative?
I've tried Quora. Not really a fan because I don't like the way you have to try and find questions to answer. Seems almost haphazard to me.
YA has it's problems, but here at least you just pull up the category and easily list the most recent Q&A.

4 AntwortenPoliticsvor 5 TagenDid you know the enlightened legislature and Governor of Iowa just made Constitutional Carry legal?
No permits are now required for law-abiding citizens to carry firearms openly or concealed in the great state of Iowa.
In other good news, March set a new record for gun sales, shattering the old one.
2 AntwortenPoliticsvor 5 TagenDemocrats seem to be all upset that water can't be handed out to people waiting in line to vote. Does that ever happen?
In over 3 decades of voting I've never once had anyone offer me water while I was waiting to vote.
But in 2024, I'm going to be handing out this bottled water to people in line since Democrats are making such a stink about it!
11 AntwortenPoliticsvor 1 WocheWas Biden right when he said it was "Neanderthal thinking" to end lockdowns and mask mandates in TX and MS?
Biden said, and Democrats in the media agreed it was "Neanderthal thinking" when the GOP in Texas and Mississippi ended the lockdowns and mask mandates in Texas and Mississippi.
It has now been more than 3 weeks since that happened in Texas and over 4 weeks in Mississippi and COVID cases have not increased in either state.
