Italian Job. How much gold?

Question

I know it’s a film and we suspend belief a bit, but in the ( original ) film, they say they are going to steal 3 tons of gold.
We'll ignore the fact that 1 ton of gold would cripple a mk 1 Mini , but when the gold is on the bus , there is clearly something approaching a cubic metre.
By my calculation , that’s 19 tons.
Anyone care to agree or disagree?

It's a movie.......if you go to movies  to nit pick reality.......then you'd never go to another movie in your life.

Leaping cars off overpasses and landing on all 4 wheels,  like cars just bounce, and caused no damage at all.............uhhhhh, yeahhh.......NOT.

and how many times have I seen chase scenes end in the car smashing into another one, head on....... and then the driver is only slightly momentarily stunned, with the obligatory  forehead cut...........then just turns the key, and the car starts right back up, and he roars away.

Yeah, sure, happens all the time.

Let's talk about leaping motorboats thru the air and over obstacles................

let's talk about bad guys, with UZI's spitting hundreds of bullets,  but can't hit the broad side of a barn,   but the cop with the pea shooter,  is such a dead aim,  he can pick off the running guy on the rooftop, at 100 yards,  with one shot. --while being shot at.

I have no idea what 3 tons of Gold physically looks like.....I just know a Mini Cooper couldn't possibly carry  3 TONS of anything.
