Did your Home Depot vegetable plants die this year?
When we planted our garden, we bought about 8 plants consisting of basil, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. We planted them throughout the garden amongst other plants we bought at nurseries. All of the HD plants slowly withered and died while the others are doing great. Has anyone else had this problem this year or should I just chalk it up to my local store having uncommon issues?
Forgot to mention I'm in Central New Jersey

I stopped buying plants at Home Depot. They always die! Their policy allows for free replacement plant, but who wants another plant that's going to die? I recommend buying plants at a nursery. They have knowledgeable staff as well who can assist you.

Not yet... Now I am going to buy flowers, I wanted to get lavender and geraniums.
If they die then there's something wrong with the soil. I think pebble soil is better than just soil, and the darker soil is better than the lighter one as it contains more organic and mineral nutrients.

We had a good year with Bonnie herbs in Southern California.
Basil, thyme, mints, oregano, all doing great!

Home Depot gets their plants from local growers. So what happened from your Home Depot will be different from what happened in mine. So yeah, chalk it up to your local home depot.
