Making a dent in someone's car as revenge - what do you think?
Hello, everyone. I work at a shipping company where I load trailers all evening. Recently, I noticed a new driver (i.e., different team, and not a direct co-worker of mine, so I don't think we'll ever meet) who parks right next to the entrance (nothing wrong with that, he has a handicapped decal and all), but the thing is, he parks in reverse, so every time I exit to go home, I have to look at a big fat middle-finger sticker in his rear windshield (and a text that says, "Back off!"). I find that EXTREMELY offensive and not to mention immature. Why does he feel the need to give the middle finger to the entire world? So I decided he needs revenge. I tried punching the glass in hopes of doing some damage, but as you may know, windshield glass is extra thick (that's for the better - breaking glass with a bare fist would result in a bloody injury on my part, maybe even a trip to the ER). So, instead, I took my fist and banged on the body of his car, creating a small- to medium-sized dent. And to me, that's "even." He DESERVES to have that dent in what looks like a new-model car. No reason to have such an obnoxious, obscene, and immature sticker! Having said that, do you think I overreacted? What would you have done if you found such a sticker offensive?

Speaking of being:
"offensive"
"obnoxious"
"obscene"
"immature"
You are all of the above to cause some type of silly "revenge" by damaging someone's property.
What do I think about what you did? You will one day find out about this little thing called "KARMA". So, the next time something bad should 'happen' to you, remind yourself about pay back.

Get ready for your co-worker to sue you in Civil Court for the cost of repairing the dent that you intentionally caused to his vehicle.

Revenge for what? You seem extremely immature if you think a sticker is an insult to you.
Deliberately denting someone's car? You know that's criminal damage?

There was two choices here, you could have ignored the sticker and put your focus elsewhere, or you could have responded in some manner. Without knowing this person's backstory, you do not know why they have chosen to put this sticker on their vehicle and so you have made assumptions about them. If the situation was reversed, would you want someone to make assumptions about you? Also, do you actually feel better about yourself for getting what you see as 'even'? What purpose did putting a dent in someone else's vehicle serve you? Only you can know why you chose to behave in this manner.

not a good idea, you could end up in jail for doing that, you couldve just talked to this guy about it

He sounds like a jerk. I would also spray paint over the sticker, to make it clear why you are angry. As he could think the dent was made by the guy that's banging his mother and sister

The question is, what would I do if I witnessed you punching someone's vehicle? I'd report you for vandalism, for starters, and you could pay court costs, a fine and repairs to his vehicle. Get a grip, people aren't here to please your delicate sensibilities.

You really need psychiatric help.
It's a HUGE overreaction, totally irrational and rather insane.
It's a sticker. It simply doesn't matter.

I'm sure your co-worker knows exactly why you put a dent in his new model car. Did you ever consider there may be closed circuit cameras in the parking lot that recorded the whole incident?
