So then after they settled on your vehicle damages, then what is left over is your injury to be settled (when) you are done treating. It is (your) responsibility to pay for your medical treatment, (not) the lawyers. Your (own) auto insurance could have either medical payment coverage and/or PIP, that would pay for all medical treatment due to an auto accident, up to the limits of your policy. Then (if) no med pay/PIP, then (your) health insurance would be secondary to pay, then if none, then once again, you owe for anything not paid by insurance.

Now your lawyer most likely wants (copies) of all medical bills, so they can keep track of the (total) cost of your medical bills, which will have the name/address of each doctor that treated you, since the lawyer (before) they want to settle will need the medical reports from (each) doctor who treated you, thus then the insurance can make a determination of how much your injury is worth from this accident.

A injury settlement is (reimbursement) of the cost of the medical bills, any lost wages, then adds pain and suffering, in which you will pay the lawyer 33% of your settlement.

So, insurance should have paid for your vehicle or the cost to repair a long time ago. With vehicle damages is black/white, thus it cost what it cost to fix, or the value of your vehicle is worth what it is worth.

Now, (unless) the lawyer has already sent in his/her demand to settle your injury, then most likely the insurance has not made a offer on your injury, till they get all copies of the medical bills and the medical reports from the doctor.

Now if in fact you might need surgery, then (unless) you do in fact have surgery, then this most likely (won’t) be considered in your injury settlement. You either need it or you don’t.

So if I had to guess then the lawyer and the insurance have not agreed to a settlement at this time and could take another month or so back and forth to agree. But, if lawyer and insurance can’t agree, then your lawyer will most likely have to file a lawsuit.

First, don't go blaming your attorney or venting at them. Try to work cooperatively with them. If you make yourself a problem client, your assistance is going to be at the bottom of the priority pile.

We don't know enough of your case to know if paying this bill is going to mean anything. It sounds like part of what they're doing is refusing to pay bills until an adequate offer is received. The "fix this" would happen down the road. You can ask your attorney if you should pay this or not.

Your credit score remains in an excellent category, and can fluctuate a lot month to month just based on how much debt you have on credit cards, etc.

If you would like to obsess over your credit, you can tell your attorney to go away and you'll just pay all the bills so your credit score doesn't risk a ding here and there. And you'll kiss all the compensation you're seeking goodbye.

What do you expect the attorney to "fix" when the case has not settled or gone to trial? He hasn't got any money from the insurance company yet so how can you expect him to pay your medical bills? You don't seem to have the basic understanding of how personal injury cases work. You had a choice to pay it outright or give it to the attorney and even if you paid it yourself, a copy should go to the attorney but marked paid, because the amount goes toward your total damages. You should have talked to the attorney about the overdue, demanding statements that threaten collections. When it gets that far, you should not have ignored them. You ignored them so they sent it to collections. Lawyers do not have control over medical providers. Your attorney did nothing wrong. You should have talked to him about the collections threat. Still, if the medical provider refused to wait, there is nothing the lawyer could have done. Once it has been paid, your credit score will increase again but, slowly. If you decide to pay it, be sure and let the lawyer's paralegal know. Send her proof of payment.

First, they cannot restore your credit.

Second, if you pay the bill, that doesn't necessarily restore your credit completely either, although it might help some.

You should pay the $75 bill, because you owe the money, and because not paying will make your credit drop more, but don't expect paying it to completely restore your credit.

2. Bruce is correct that you SHOULD have paid the medical bills IMMEDIATELY and sought reimbursement from the insurance company.

Paying the bill will not restore your credit rating. The fact that it went to collections stays on your credit history.

You hired a private attorney for an injury case? You should have hired a TV accident lawyer. The difference, an accident lawyer will fight to get what YOU deserve. A private lawyer will fight to GET what you deserve.

Paying the bill has no effect on your legal case. It does nothing to admit or deny guilt.

With that said, 795 is still an excellent score.
