Which region of the United States is less dangerous to live in?
I'm thinking of moving from Brazil. Thanks.

Every region of the USA has hot spots of crime or violence. Surrounded by the 90%+ of the area that is as safe as Canada. Take LA for example. This Canadian lived in LA from 2001 to 2010, in the Orange County part of greater LA. While many portray LA as dangerous, those parts are maybe 10% of greater LA. Less than 5% in Orange County. The other areas of greater LA are as nice as anyone could expect.
I lived in the city of Orange and in the city of Costa Mesa, both of which were as same as living in Vancouver BC in Canada.
Do not let this affect where you move to in the US. You can tell the bad areas as more than 10% of the homes will have bars on the windows. The really bad places will have bars on the second floor windows on more than 5% of the homes. Simply go a few kilometers from these and you will be in a nice area.

It is difficult to rate by region. You need to look at communities because you can have safe places and not so safe places within a few miles/kilometers of each other. Find a community, read up on its positive areas and places to avoid. That should help. Depending on your time available--and your tolerance for distances, you might look at more than one area.

In America most of it is safe. It depends on the neighborhood you are in. When you move the locals will tell you what areas to avoid. All regions have save and unsafe areas. And Brazil is 10 times more dangerous then America.

You’re from Brazil, you’ll be fine anywhere in the United States. It’s not like Brazil is known for its safety

First you will need a visa to move here. A work visa requires you to have a job already lined up. So where you can find a job for your line of work will dictate where you will be living.
Most large cities will have bad areas of crime. That is for everylarge city in any country. I live near Chicago. There are good and bad areas to live in within the city. No one state or whole region is going to more or less safe.
Other things to think about is
What are property taxes, Income taxes, cost of homes, rent for apartments, is there public transportation, job prospects for the area. Do you need an airport near by. Weather.

All of the USA is safe as long as you don't buy/sell/use illegal drugs like crack cocaine and stay away from people who do.

You might want to research the crime there first.
What do you mean by least dangerous? Natural disasters? Crime? Auto accidents?

Every state has its dangerous cities. One state is not better than another for crime. It depends on the city. You can look for crime statistics before you travel.

Stay out of the biggest cities. The rest of the country is no more dangerous than Europe.
