What would be more useful for the Average American to learn; the Metric System, or another language?

I have lived and spent quite a bit of time in Ohio and Michigan and I learned a lot of the Metric system due to the close proximity with Canada but now I live in the South and when I talk about understanding Metric Units people look at me like I am speaking a language other than English. That being said the South is also full of migrants from Mexico that do not understand English but understand American measurements such as gallons, pounds, feet, and inches. Which option do you think would be more useful to most Americans and why?

Spanish by far is the better choice. People who know metric in the US also know the English system so there is not problem.

It's idiotic to even ask that question. People should learn both. For fcuk's sake, how stupid are AmeriKKKans that they can't learn a few simple units of measurement like meters, liters, and grams?

And asking whether they should learn that OR a foreign langauge but not both is sort of like asking whether people should eat food OR drink water but not both. It's just stupid, in the incredibly stupid way that only AmeriKKKans can be.

Why not both...? The metric system isn't that hard to learn. Everything is just multiples of 10. Obviously learning a language is much hard, however you shouldn't have to choose one or the other. Just learn both.
