Credit hour.
For a Bachelor degree you need about 120 credits. Each class you take is worth a certain amount of credit, most classes are worth 3 credits. Some classes with a lab can be 5 credits.
Full time tuition covers 12-18 credits per semester.
A student taking 15 credits would be in the classroom 15 hours per week and have about 30-45 hours of school work per week.
