I can buy 2 cargo containers very cheap of new backpacks.?

Do you think I could make money exporting them to the U.S. Selling them of the back of a truck in Spanish speaking areas? In 45 days. Shipping tie to there.

It's possible, but I foresee a few problems. First, you would be staking a lot of money on one single product. Deals like that are a pretty big gamble. Next, there aren't that many people that need backpacks. How many people do you see walking down the street with a backpack? Some men might use them for work, maybe even fewer women. Some people also use them when they go to the gym. However, most backpacks sold annually are purchased by parents for school children. This would be a good target demographic, however the timing is way off. School has already started so school children already have their backpacks and school supplies. There might be a few that need new ones, but not nearly enough to sell two cargo containers worth. if you could hold off until mid to late August or early September, then MAYBE you might be able to move some backpacks. However the problem is that most people are going to buy their children's school supplies all in one place, normally a box store.

What are we talking about volume wise? 800 units? 1000 units? How much would you be paying for them? Do you know the other associated costs? Shipping fees? Dock fees? Customs fees? Storage fees? Moving fees?

So you get the containers to the US, then what? They take them off the boat and what do you do with them? Do you have a semi to transport them in? How are you going to move around two cargo containers full of backpacks?

In my opinion it's a bad deal. If you could get them at $1.00 or $2.00 per unit, were in no hurry to sell them, and had some connection at retailers, then maybe it could work. However selling them on the street is going to fail. If we were talking about something that might actually sell it would be a different story. But having a huge inventory of a single product with an extremely specific target demographic is a recipe for failure.
