Fbi is asking for pictures to help with a crime?

The Fbi called to ask if I can send pictures to see if someone was in the background for a crime that was committed, I don't feel comfortable sharing personal pictures, should I still comply? If it helps close the case and they would never contact again then I would send them, but how do I know after this they they wont ask for anything more?

That's probably not the FBI. I have never heard of the FBI calling people - normally they show up at your house. Even when a friend was getting security clearance for a government job and listed me as a reference the FBI came to my home to ask me questions about the person. They could have easily called but they came in person

Call your local FBI Field Office to report this. Give them the name of the person who called you. They will confirm if they really called (highly unlikely) or if it was a scammer using their name to destroy evidence you might have

The FBI would never call and ask such a thing. They might call before they showed up at your house or work but they would never call and request something like that.

How did they contact you? Are you SURE it was the FBI? What address do you send the photos to?
