What California law says Alcoholic beverages need to be bagged?

I don't think there is one, because I purchased some yesterday with no bag. Of course that was a beer and not hard alcohol. I do often (or always) get a paper bag the liquor store. I don't know if it is more of tradition or a legal thing.

There is no law. My county has banned bags altogether. I tell the stupid clerk, "No bag, thank you", and they put it in a bag anyway, tell me it's the law. What urban legend does this come from? Bags are banned, yet they still say it's the law that my beer must be bagged on their premises.
