Why are immigrants so rude?

I figured this would be a good post for Martin Luther King day, given that he fought for civil rights and treating everyone equally:

First of all, no offense, and I am not trying to be racist or overgeneralizing or anything (I've met a lot of great immigrants over the years), but I work at one of the "glorified Taco Bells" (won't disclose which one to protect my privacy), so basically a fast food job, and I currently live in an area with a high immigrant population, and working at that place has made me realize how RUDE immigrants can be. Granted, in the end, I'm only going to remember my very BEST and my very WORST customers, but so far, almost EACH AND EVERY one of my "very worst customers" has been an immigrant. And that just really pisses me off.

Pretty much all of my very best customers have been "regular" Americans (okay, maybe one or two immigrants, just to be fair). There have also been cases where the adult (an immigrant) treats me like crap and their kids (born here in America) are nicer to me.

Come on, immigrants, this is America. You don't get to treat us Americans like dirt just because you had a hard life growing up. Listen to Martin Luther King, Jr. if your English is good enough. You might learn something.

I know, I know - the very immigrants whose behavior I'm urging to change will most likely not be reading this forum, but I just had to rant in favor of MLK day :).

You must live in an area where the immigrants wear some kind of identification, like the Jews in Nazi Germany who had to wear a yellow Star of David on their clothing. Here in California we can't tell immigrants from non-immigrants apart. We have natural-born US citizens who wear a turban, look like Mexican drug lords, or Chinese immigrants right off the boat, yet none of them is an immigrant. I'd be very surprised if you could tell that I'm an immigrant, as well. Perhaps your problem is not immigrants, or people who you perceive as immigrants, but the fact that you live in the ghetto.

Its probably because those "immigrants" (I'm interested to know how you justified asking them to show you their papers) saw the change in your attitude.

That you're here asking this, means they were justified treating you as they did. You're there to work, not for looking at people judgmentally.

I just need to know how exactly you know who is an immigrant and who's not? And don't tell me "because they weren't speaking English" because I know many families with Hispanic heritage who are BORN in America but prefer to speak Spanish and claim Spanish as their first language.

Some of them simply do not know the proper ways to behave, speak, treat other people. They have not learned the language, customs, culture yet.

Vast numbers of them refuse to learn the proper ways to behave, speak, treat other people. They will not learn the language, customs, culture. They want to stick to their own language, culture, customs, etc, despite living in a foreign country, and refuse to assimilate.
