I was just permitted a 5 year visa to the U.S. do I have to visit within 6 months so it does not expire? Thanks!?

A 5-year visa is a multiple entry visa. Dates of validity are printed on the visa. You may visit US at any time during that period, for up to 180 days (including day of arrival as Day 1 and day of departure also counts as a separate day) at a time. Maximum of 180 days in any 365-day period. Overstay any visit by so much as a day, and the visa will be revoked - and you will never get another. So watch your count very carefully!

Did you READ the visa ? Not all are the same, so what does YOURS say on the matter ?
If it doesn't, then you should contact a US embassy or consulate and ask their Immigration staff.

Just overstay like everybody does, libs will let you, so why not do it while you have the chance?
