What is a job portrayed as cool in the movies that actually IS as interesting as the movies say they are?
Yes there are many jobs and careers that the movies make more interesting than they really are e.g. archaeologist and Indiana Jones or undercover police are potrayed as action stars.
But what is a job that is cool and interesting in the movies that actually is in real life?

Bearing in mind the axiom that 'drama is life with all the dull bits cut out' you could almost name any job which deals face-to-face with the public, that is crazier in reality than the movies portray. The main difference being lots and lots of waiting, paperwork, red tape restrictions, and so on. But I would think professional racing driver would be right up there...

Being a Security Officer in the mall is actually as fun as Paul Blart: Mall Cop made it look like it is. I was a Security Gaurd at Jordan Creek Mall here in West Des Moines between 2006 and 2010 and I enjoyed the hell out of it. I basically had free reign to walk around the mall and talk to whoever I wanted to. It was great going to bed every night looking forward to going to work the next day.
