Fruit for breakfast buffet?

I am bringing the breakfast for 40 people at a meeting. I plan on coffee, juice, yogurt, a few pastries and some fruit. I did this a few months ago and cut up lots of apples and bananas and oranges that ended up not being eaten. It was a waste of my time and a waste of fruit. I am thinking about fruit that doesn't need to be cut: strawberries, cherries, grapes, washed and then just put in bowls. This is all new to me and would appreciate some suggestions. I have some money to spend but not unlimited.

You have to supply things that are easy to eat. Strawberries is a good idea. You could get some melon that has been cut into chunks and put big toothpicks or those little sword things in them. That way they are easy to handle and now awkward to eat. Definitely coffee (both regular and decaf), juice and maybe have hot water available for tea. Everyone loves pastries. A mixture of muffins (the mini ones are easy to eat), I suppose the yogurt is an ok idea, but only those little ones. Just think back to what was consumed last time you did it.

I prefer a breakfast buffet that includes fruit like banana, oranges, apples and/or pears, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries or other things in season.

a lot of people don't eat fruit for breakfast so if you do some buy some plastic cups/lids and fill them with berries grapes etc then they stay fresh to), do the same with yogurt and then cereals

try some flapjacks, boiled eggs, and muffins like blueberry and chocolate ones, breads hams cheese and maybe check if any 1 is gluten free so you can make them a tub filled with g/f products

Some of those fruits just don't set out well over time. Mainly apples and bananas. They tend to turn brown or soggy.

I'd go with strawberries, blueberries, melons, grapes and pineapple... things along those lines.

*Maybe consider putting them in individual portion sizes on skewers instead of just in a bowl.

i'd go for pineapple with melon and cherries so they won't discolor and can be kept if not all eaten. put plenty of toothpick containers out and supply a couple of large bowls that you can keep topping up with yogurt. you might want to get a good granola too. again it needn't be wasted if unused. i've just worked at a food and drink festival over the weekend and the amount of food left on plates on the floor was unbelievable so i don't think you can completely avoid wastage all round.

    Melon (various types)

    Grapes

    Raspberries

    Strawberries

    Blueberries

    Orange

Bananas- leave whole in the skin so people can take them away with them if they like and you won't have any wastage.

I would avoid cherries- too much hassle with the wee stone!
