Religion & Spirituality: How can one prove that Taylor Swift's music sucks?

Maybe someday when we understand brain science better, we'll be able to prove why some music is good and why some sucks. I'm positive Taylor Swift's music will turn out to be in the "sucks" category, but for now, there's no way to prove it.

However you can prove that her music is structurally and harmonically simplistic, unoriginal, and deals with a very limited range of subject matter.

There's no such thing as bad music. But there is such a thing as generic and uninspired music, which Taylor Swift falls right under.

You can't "prove" a piece of music is bad. It's a matter of opinion. Of course, you could point out that Taylor Swift's fan base is composed mostly of 10—14-year-old girls whose views on everything are basically un-nuanced and immature.

I have played in a metal band, and I like all sorts of music, I've been a musician for twenty years, and I think she has talent.

You don't. Its a subjective opinion. I think she's talented and her music is alright.

Taylor Swift is awesome. You suck.
