Why is it absolutely unacceptable to disrespect someone in the military, but it's perfectly okay to disrespect the Commander-In-Chief?

Respect the office, sure. Respect the politician occupying that office? Only if they earn and deserve that respect. And I say that as a liberal Democratic leaning Independent. During the Bush years, I had zero respect for Bush. I felt then, as I do now, that Republicans are good at looking insane, stupid, extreme, arrogant, ignorant, condescending, bigoted, hateful, and greedy. Respect that? Not even if it's the president.

So, how could I expect Republicans to treat a Democratic president any different. Now, when their full of cow dung, that I'll call them on.

I'm far more likely to disrespect the Commander-In-Chief.... doesn't matter what political party he belongs to..

One is a poorly paid young volunteer risking his life in the defense of your country.

The other is a crooked lying politician who is lining his own pockets at the publics expense.

One gives, the other takes.
