How can someone with the knowledge of events such as the Salem witch trials still be in favor of the death penalty?

Really?! The Salem Witch Trials?! THAT'S what you're using to argue against the death penalty. Try again. There are plenty of other cases that happened in say the last 50 years that would make a better argument.

God demands capitol punishment, and so does America. In America our laws are taken in part from God's law. We are to practice a balanced and equitable justice system. When activist judges do not do the will of the people then it our responsibility to vote them out and replace them. The problem with America is the people have grown too lazy to do their office of overseer, and instead expect Obamaphone and food stamps in return for a worthless uninformed vote. The Boston bomber should be executed, and it is like spitting in the face of the victims to let that little coward live.

the bad guys, the violent criminals, kill a hell of lot more innocent people then the innocent ones that we give the death panel too. I'll take those odds, even increase them. all violent criminals should be eliminated as cheaply, quickly, and effectively as we possible can. No more appeals, no more years on death row, no more making it so damn expensive trying to be nice about it. Line them up and put a bullet into the back of the heads.

Before someone is put to death now a days, they have multiple chances to prove they are innocent. Most that are on death row live on average 20 years before they are killed. In California those on death row have a very small chance of ever put to death. Now try real hard to feel what the victims and their families feel. If someone murdered your loved one, you might feel differently

We, "The People" have set the laws and standards for capital punishment, not the Catholic Church.

We only condemn people to death that have actually killed others, and whom will likely do so again if not put down.
