Taking my child abroad against husband's wishes?
I have a 1 and 1/2 year old daughter and would like to take to her India, my husband does not want her to go. If I take my daughter anyway, what repercussions will I face for reentry in the United States? What actions can he take against me? Can he accuse me of kidnapping our child? Also what steps should I take to take her with me?

It would be child kidnapping, rewarded with 15 to 25 years in a federal maximum security prison. An Amber alert would be issued, the Indian authorities would be alerted, and you'd be arrested at the airport, taken into custody, and by the time you see the light of the day again, your daughter would not even remember you anymore. Probably not such a good idea . . .

that would depend on what actions your husband actually took and your current status in the US. you could find yourself blocked from getting any sort of visa to return, if you are in some sort of temporary status. Kidnapping would likely be difficult to sustain in my opinion, if you are married and there is no court order giving him sole custody. I rather doubt Indian courts would enforce US laws though.
however, even if you are an American, you could easily wind up losing your passport, although not your citizenship. they could cancel your passport and refuse to issue you a new one except to return to the US with your child.

If there is no court order preventing you from going it's not kidnapping and there's nothing he can do about it.
