Insurances that cover infertility testing?
My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for over a year now. I have been checking into my insurance and laws provided by the state to ensure fair treatment in insurance.
Ohio law requires insurers to cover infertility testing and treatment with the exception that the employer self insures. (Guess what my company did)
The insurance we have is Terrible anyway and I have been exploring different insurance companies to be provided by.
Does anyone know which insurance companies cover infertility testing and treatment?

If the law in your state provides this as a covered benefit, it's a covered benefit.
All insurance in your state except self-insured plans will cover it (aka anything you buy will cover it).
You can't purchase insurance now. You will have to wait until the open enrollment period of Nov 15, for effective Jan 1, 2015.
You will get no tax breaks on the insurance because you are eligible for an employer based plan.
You act like your employer purposely decided to be self insured so they wouldn't have to cover these things. If would be very unusual for a company in the US that has more than 1000 employees to "not" be self-insured. Many companies that are smaller than that would also be self-insured.
