The newspapers, especially the Mirror idolise him, but intact in my opinion he is a total asshole for staying there and then risking millions more people in England.
Keep the disease out by closing the borders, let them out but don't let them in.

OK, we just went through this in the U.S. Two people were brought back with ebola and treated in an isolation ward in Emory hospital. They have recovered and been released.
Ebola spreads by bodily fluids, not through the air. You are not going to be infected just because someone in the country has it. Furthermore, the conditions where it's spreading in Africa are very different from conditions in the U.K. and the U.S. Poverty, lack of sanitation and lack of knowledge about how to protect themselves are contributing to the spread.
Meanwhile, Emory and I'm sure clinics in the UK have had the virus for years, experimenting with it, trying to find a vaccine.
