Should we file a petition to remove conditional residence (I-751) ourselves or through an attorney? Also, what will be the steps?

-No itineraries showing travel due to his ongoing health issues
-No children due to health issues and continuing education
-Parents are from same country, one spouse is an American born U.S. citizen and the other is from abroad
-We know the USCIS filing fee for form I-751 is $590
-Our situation, we think is simple but we are just trying to think of all of the scenarios and if it would be better to file ourselves or to go through an attorney and pay $1500 additional

Given that you are filing jointly and that your supporting evidence covers all of the 3 pillars of RoC (taxes, cohabitation, finances) beautifully, it would be outright stupid to get an attorney involved so that his $12-an-hour office helper fills out the form with information you provide, makes photocopies of the documents you provide, put the stuff in an envelope, and mails it out eventually.
Tax returns, lease, and bank statements alone would do the trick 100%. The rest is just garnishing. Qualify over quantity!

You only need an attorney if you are illegal, illiterate, or committing fraud.
