Alesis M1 MK 2 PSU has 2 burnt transistors and 2 burnt resisters. any idea of likely cause?
it shutdown a few times then just died.
if I replace them is there likely to be something else wrong?
for the experienced these are transistors gone. PNP 2n4403 40v 600mA to-92.

another detail. these monitors are well known for having a design fault. a capacitor used was of the wrong specs. i replaced it with the correct capacitor. as per guidance on internet
could this be the cause? maybe components in line are now too stressed?

The root cause is that the PSU doesn't have adequate overcurrent protection or it didn't work. A defective output filter cap could short and cause an overload.

Yes, likely something else caused them to fail. Most likely would be an electrolytic capacitor that dried out due to advanced age.
