What's the difference between salami and pepperoni?

While made in a similar fashion, Pepperoni is cooked, spiced differently, smaller in size and eaten on pizza hot mainly, Salami varies in size, uses either beef, pork or other meats, is spiced and cured differently, smoked in some/most cases, either a long cold smoke or a short warm smoke, then cured for weeks or months until dried, smaller and lighter than want made, salami is served on sandwiches, as an appetizer, also used in salads or sauces.

I know they do make a deli size pepperoni and it is sold like bologna, but it is not the same as true pepperoni in essence.

I think pepperoni is a variety of salami. Like a spicy salami.

Salami is made like a huge bologna but with pork lard and seasoning and fed into the sausage casing

Pepperoni could be made as a sausage like Salami, but a salami couldn't be made into a pepperoni
