Do higher power graphics cards/CPUs run hotter on idle?
Having difficulty figuring this one out.
A medium card and CPU trying to run a high graphic game would require the card to work a lot, so it runs hot.
If I were to use a powerful card and CPU, will it still run hot due to the power or will it run cooler since it doesn't take as much work to run the game?
but which runs cooler during say... skyrim.
The medium since it can only do so much or the high power one since it doesn't have to work as hard? Or does it run hotter for being more powerful?

well my 6870 at 100% was 65c my 780sc at 50% doing the same thing is only at 55c, at idle my 780 is 20-25c which is about the same as what the 6870 was at. also depends on the cards cooler. i have the EVGA acx cooler

It's just like the medium card... it'll run cooler on idle... but when you stress the GPU with a game or whatever... it'll run hotter. Same goes with a CPU.
