Which nebula filter should i get?
Hi. I have the Orion Dobsonian XT8 and i live in a pretty light polluted suburban area and i was interested in getting a filter for nebulas becasue i can only see the orion nebula from where i live. i was wondering which type of filter would be overall best to inhance the view from my telescope. Which do you think i should get, a UHC filter, a narrow-band filter, an Olll, an H-Beta. I have read that Narrowband filters are good, which model do you think i should get?

If you were to get only one nebula filter go for the Orion Ultablock. They score high in comparison with other brands and are a good all around filter. On many nebulae the narrow band filters like the Ultrablock will outperform the others. The OIII is better on some objects than the Ultrablock. The link below is an excellent overview on filters. As far as the H-Beta. they are good for very few objects like the Horsehead and California nebulas.

UHC and narrow band are the same thing, more or less. The generic answer to your question may be found at http://www.raycash.us/astroimages/filters.htm
Now that being said, there are many brands to choose from. The Orion UltraBlock is a perennial favorite. A sleeper among this crowd is the Celestron UHC filter, which is actually a Baader Planetarium filter. See

As Nyx said, the O-III filter is a second choice, but then the first link above should help to solidify that position.
