iodised salt, vegetables etc give you iodine. If you're going to eat foods rich in it just for the iodine like kelp/dulce etc be very careful. Iodine toxicity is just as if not more dangerous than a deficiency of it.

Really? I have never worried about the amount of iodine I am getting.... when I was a meat eater, vegetarian and now vegan. Salt has iodine so you will get all you need.
Believe me, if that's your biggest worry I say turn vegan today.

Many table salts contain iodine.....but not all. Read the label to be sure. And if you're trying to cut back on salt, take a pill.
The vegan diet is incomplete and vegans need to supplement anyway. Here's a link to a VEGAN registered dietitian's website about nutrients vegans (and some vegetarians) need to be careful about in their diet. And what foods are best to eat to get those nutrients.....or take a pill. Iodine is one he recommends taking a pill.

Humans need very little iodine to live a healthy life. Iodized salt gives you plenty.
