I hate fruit - any suggestions?

Hello.

How can I start actually LIKING to eat fruit? I hate almost every single kind of fruit, except the super sweet ones such as melons, or pineapples (and that's about it!)

But I cannot stand to eat any other kind of healthy fruit. Trust me, I have tried.

I love eating vegetables, so that's not a problem.

How can I change this? I want to be healthy, and have my 5 a day, but I can't bring myself to eat the fruit I dislike so much.

Thanks for any tips!!

P.S. I'm 17, and female, if that makes any difference.

    Maybe try making your own smoothies. For example, put in some banana, melon, pineapple and strawberry with some orange juice and see what it is like. Then get experimental and see what you can create.

    You could also try chopping some apple and pear and stewing it down in a pan until soft- add some sugar or honey to sweeten it and have it with ice cream.

    It's possible to drink fruit, instead of eating it. All you need to do is mash up the fruit in a food processor to make a drink out of it.

    But if you add sugar to it, then this won't be good for your health. Because eating extra sweet food all the time can lead to obesity, insulin resistance, and type II diabetes.

    Fruit juice is one of your 5-a-day. Try to find a balance between portions of fruit and juices and an active lifestyle. Even some jam on porridge, or a banana would suffice...

    I love apple sauce which you eat mostly with meat. Dried apricots snacks really help to fight weight gain. Strawberries and cream? Yummy,

    Try making smoothies and/or fruit salads. Incorporate fruits you like with a few others. Also, try fruits you haven't had before.

    I personally think baked bananas with skim milk and cinnamon is heaven, you should try it :)

    There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.

    I read this interesting book https://tr.im/ZA9Ml that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.

    It can a vegetable when you buy it and a fruit when you eat it.

    I definitely prefer fresh vegetables more. I don't like all the acid for most fruits.

    Raisins and grapes are fairly sweet. Maybe get into pudding making. Apple or rhubarb crumble with plenty of sugar added.

    just think of something great while you are eating fruits and drink a lot of fruit juice. It helps.:)

    I dont eat fruit or veg. If you dont like it then dont worry about it. Just eat the ones you do like.
