Why is god still allowing floods that kill people?

Who are "you guys"? The floods of our day are not caused by God. Very simple explanation that I bet you could have easily concluded all on your own. The real thrust of your intent is found in your third sentence. You really wish to take exception with those believers who have claimed that the Flood of Noah was not worldwide in scope.

So with that being said, God allows bad things to happen because man is responsible of preventing sin, however, God knows humans won't ever stop sinning until they obliterate themselves (Matthew 24:22), so He will put an end to human filth before it destroys the entire world, but before He does, He is patient with man, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance(2 Peter 3:9).

Natural disasters are one of the best arguments for atheism, or at least that the creator-omnipotent-loving God is myth. The trouble is we hang on to ancient scriptures as if they are literally true, actually each culture does its best to understand these things, but things have moved on since the bronze age.

If you read the bible you will find that God gave dominion over the world to Adam and Adam let Satan gyp him out of it. So Satan is god of this world now, and he kills anybody he can.
