Do i need a Remote and Nunchuk to play nintendo Wii?
First time buying a wii and the one i ordered does not include the controllers. Im going to buy Super mario galaxy and super mario bros for it. Do I need a remote and nunchuck? Or just the rectangle remote?

You need a remote above anything. Some games can work with just a remote and some need the Nunchuk.
The Nunchuk and classic controller both have to plug into a remote to work.
Super Mario Galaxy requires the Nunchuk, so you should at least have that and one remote.

For the games you're considering...
You WILL NEED THE NUNCHUCK for Super Mario Galaxy to move Mario around...
The NUNCHUCK IS OPTIONAL (it's supported) for New Super Mario Bros. Wii... & you probably want to play with the Wiimote in the horizontal orientation anyways for best play support.

You need both. I recommend getting a Mario or Luigi themed Wii remote. They look awesome and have Wii motion plus built in (some games need this, like Wii Play Motion, Wii Sports Resort, and Zelda Skyward Sword). Hope this helps.
