Saiga 12's Legal in Maryland?

Question

Was trying to see if they were illegal, but I don't see them listed on the gun ban list. This is actually surprising, unless I'm look at the list before they revised it.

I don't see any restrictions on their site to MD residents, but you can always ask them if you are not sure.

I think the reason that you don't see them on the list is that the lawmakers are just plain stupid about what they are legislating.  They see rifles that look like military rifles as evil because they have gotten all the press recently.   However, they still see shotguns are sporting firearms, no matter how they are configured.

I try to avoid legal questions so I`ll put it this way...The whole concept of the Saiga platform was to sell in California. That explains why they are so disproportionately ugly. Yes, I have one but living in Texas I can even change it to look like an AK-47 with a fat barrel. Really, it should be explained under the regular semi-automatic shotgun laws. I would not even toy with the idea of hunting with one. Home defense, range toy, or just a fun day in the woods is their specialty.
