Does the tradition of toiletpapering a house have something to do with high school football?
Happens all the time around here this time of the year.

Having been the actual toilet paperer during my high school years I may have a little insight on this subject. For me, it all had to do with tradition as a marching band member during football season.
At least in the case with us, it was actually an honor when your house was toilet papered by other marching band members and myself. It was in no way a mean act. I was the leader of the toilet paperers. Tradition with us was that before each game, my friend and I would go to the local grocery store in full band uniform. We would load our carts with generic toilet paper (generic because the softer stuff rips and tears off too easily when it's tossed into the trees and branches, it was also cheaper).
The plans would start the night before a game at what we called "pep rally sign painting parties". We would make a few signs but our small group was really focused on whom would be chosen to get it after the game the next night. Our targets would mainly be other marching band members and football players homes. The areas of our targets would be scoped out the night before the deed, down to our route, parking, escape and back-up plans. Everyone was sworn to secrecy as well. We had a pretty decent success rate in carrying out each "tp mission". :P
Once the season is over, I'm sure you won't see much again until next season.
