Now that the 1st amendment has been reinstated in TN, do you have faith that God is protecting the US?
This is related to the case where the judge ruled that a baby's name couldn't be "Messiah." Back when this first occurred - a month ago - I pointed out that the 1st amendment had been violated.

Today, a judge agreed with me on appeal, and the baby's name is back to what his parent's intended - "Messiah."
Does this show that God is looking out for the US, and guiding judges to make decisions protecting religious freedom?
I do not have a belief in God. This question is directed at people who do have that belief. If you don't have a belief in God, you have no business answering this question.
If a God existed, that God *might* desire religious freedom because it would give people the opportunity to choose whether to believe.

No. Come to think of it, why would "God" want us to have freedom anyway?

I don't really see how this has anything to do with religion. It's a free speech issue (if anything). If the judge's ruling was based on religion, which it sounds like it was, then obviously, he cannot disallow a name on religious grounds (since that would appear to be making laws based on religious belief--which is strictly forbidden by the constitution).
But I don't see why "god" would want separation of church and state, so it's not really in "god"'s best interest to uphold that part of the first amendment.

Has nothing to do with God. It does have to do with conservative hypocrisy. At least the initial ruling did. They love to pizz and moan about getting government off of our backs, then a conservative judge is going to have the audacity to tell parents what they can name their children? Big disconnect between what the preach and what they practice. I'm glad this azzhole got overruled.

No, it just shows a respect for the Constitution of the United States of America and the amendments, thereto.

Just shows you how people are stupid and don't care about a kid's future.
How many blows to the face is THAT kid going to get when he gets into high school.
Hell, I'd whup the parents right away for it.

It has nothing to do with your "God." The first judge was a Christard bigot, acted like a Christard bigot, and got the public humiliation that was deserved. That judge's blatantly wrong ruling was reversed, as it should have been.

No it just shows the rest of the world how stupid the US really is.
Americans rely on an outed constitution the same as christians rely on a 2000 year old book of fairy tales.
