Getting around Amalfi?

For trains you'd have to go to Salerno or Sorrento. From Sorrento, you can take the Circumvesuviana trains to Naples: http://www.eavcampania.it/web/ . both Pompeii and Herculaneum are on this line. From Salerno, you can take the Trenitalia trains throughout Italy. http://www.eavcampania.it/web/ However, there are no trains to go between the various towns of the Amalfi Coast.

I don't know your starting point to those places. Is it Rome? Than you can use trains. Train to Naples and Amalfi as well. Close to.

If you have money to be in Capri and places like Positano (4 times more expensive than Rome)for sure you have money to make whats need by taxi. Amalfi and those areas you mention are expensive like hell.

Once I had money enough stay in those places for more than a week or so. In the beach I saw Robert de Niro and Lisa Minelli. You must be rich.

Ask how much it coast a car with driver. You might get a nice surprise and be not so expensive as you think.

Positano is a fantastic town in the heart of Amalfi coast.
