How many innocent blacks will now be killed?

Stop and Frisk was conducted primarily in black neighborhood. Now no matter how suspicion their actions they cannot be stopped & frisked by the police. This leaves the law abiding blacks living in those neighborhoods totally vulnerable. These innocents are the ones who are going to arm themselves and the citizens of N.Y. must have the laws to ensure they can use self-defense against those putting them in a dangerous position.

Should people sit back and allow thugs to knock them around, steal money or valuable from their homes, rape them or their children simply because the liberals think thugs are being picked on because of the 'color of their skin'. One's skin color does not make one look suspicious, it's one's actions and canvassing neighborhoods where they do not belong.

Stand You Ground laws are the only real protection law-abiding citizens and the liberals are putting those they are pretending to help are greater risk.

N.Y. will soon be another Chicago but we will not hear about these senseless crimes from the liberal press.

Nonsense the stop and frisk procedure was done to african and hispanic Americans and to undocumented aliens by the police even knowing it was racial profiling by Bloomberg authority. the result was no charges or extremely no charges and arrests. You who ever you are the "thug". Your family and you should leave this country so we will have less trash here.

If a police officer sees someone engaged in suspicious behavior then they can still stop them. The problem was that officers were essentially randomly stopping young black and Hispanic men without cause. Often stop and frisks happened for nothing more suspicious than someone walking down the street or sitting on a stoop. In one infamous case where a teenager recorded his stop and frisk experience he asked the cop why they were stopping him and they said "Because you're an f-ing mutt!"

Now the argument that Mayor Bloomberg and Commissioner Kelly have made is similar to the one that you make: that stop and frisk was a vital tool in combating crime and that ending it will lead to people's deaths. Bloomberg has explicitly said this. The problem is that there's no evidence to suggest this was the case. To hear Ray Kelly and Mike Bloomberg talk about the decision you'd think that the crime drop in the city is entirely the result of their policy of harassing young men of color. But the crime rate in New York began dropping before the NYPD began using large scale stop and frisk measures. And the fluctuations in the rate of crime have, so far, been totally unconnected to the rate of stop and frisk. For example, even before Judge Scheindlin's ruling the number of stop and frisks has been declining for the past year. At the same time the crime rate has been declining. A look at the statistics also must make one question if stop and frisk was an effective crime deterrent. According to Mayor Bloomberg one of the main goals of stop and frisk is to interdict illegal guns. In his press statements after the ruling he's made it clear that he fears that guns will now be more readily available in NYC thus resulting in more shootings. But a quick look at the statistics shows that the stop and frisk policy wasn't a very efficient way of getting guns off the street. Police only made arrests or issued summonses in about 10% of stop and frisk cases and only confiscated guns in about 1% of cases. That's an extraordinarily high failure rate.

The fact is that the murder rate in New York was trending downward before the current Stop and Frisk policy was implemented. It went down more between 1995 and 2000 than it did since 2000. So when Bloomberg talks about the judges ruling costing lives, that's complete BS.

As for the judges ruling, she didn't say that Stop and Frisk had to stop. What she said was that they way the city was doing it was unconstitutional and that specific guidelines needed to be drawn up that pass constitutional muster.

You are right. I've known plenty of truly good, decent, law-loving blacks (who know who the real "n-words" are). It's refreshing and hope inspiring to hear your words. Look what has happened to Detroit, the historically record breaking bankruptcy of such a huge city. Now that the thugs destroyed that city, and sucked it dry, I'm sure they will be looking for more fertile ground in the east or midwest. Be warned.

I question the accuracy of this statement.
