Parakeet or Parrotlet? Which should I get?

A parakeet definitely!!!

Parrotlets have this little habit of becoming mean and feisty. They are also more expensive and unless you have enough experience to handle an aggressive and biting bird I would recommend getting a budgie. They are cheaper and have a better temperament. If you want a good small bird then buy one from a breeder, not a pet store.

Parrolets are easier to handle because they are bigger and good talkers and easier to understand when they talk. You should start of with a small bird as a first pet bird.
