Parakeet or Parrotlet? Which should I get?
I'm a 14 year old girl and I have owned 5 hamsters in the past and I have taken care of them myself. I just thought I would tell you that, but I have never owned a bird before. I am interested in parakeets and parrotlets, but I don't know which one would be best for me. Can I please have the pros and cons of each bird? Also, advice on owning a bird for the first time would be helpful! :)

A parakeet definitely!!!
Parrotlets have this little habit of becoming mean and feisty. They are also more expensive and unless you have enough experience to handle an aggressive and biting bird I would recommend getting a budgie. They are cheaper and have a better temperament. If you want a good small bird then buy one from a breeder, not a pet store.
Parrotlets can range from $150, up to $200 or more
Budgies are usually only around $30-$50
Lineolated parakeets are really great and energetic, but they're also more expensive, starting around $150.
With a big enough cage, healthy diet of fresh fruits and veggies + plain/natural pellets and lots of fun toys, so long as you get the bird from a breeder then it should make a great pet c:

There both great pets parakeets are cheaper usually around 20 parrolets can cost upto 125. Although. Parrolets are easier to handle because they are bigger and good talkers and easier to understand when they talk. You should start of with a small bird as a first pet bird. You chose good first pet birds.
