Repeal of DOMA: Does this mean any two adults can be "spouses" for federal benefits?
Could you "marry" (for federal purposes) a family member? Could federal employee provide health benefits to a very sick family member? Does the repeal of DOMA make such a benefit possible?
Not sarcastic. Don't resent the repeal of DOMA. Just a simple question- *Now* can any two adults become "spouses" for federal benefits? (I'd heard that a few years ago, Hawaii allowed this situation so a mother who needed a lot of medical care could become a legal "spouse" of her adult son. Nothing about kinky activities which is kind of a taboo topic anyway. You don't ask what anyone does in their bedroom.)

Sorry, but you can't marry your sister, as much as you'd like to.
You can be declared legal guardian if the person in question is mentally or physically unable to care for himself or herself. That would confer certain privileges to the 'dependent.'

and straight people sometimes get married for exactly that reason too.
they are friends and it's a marriage so someone can get benefits.
I don't know if your example is meant to be sarcasm but it probably is. to make things more absurd just because you resent DOMA.

No. Repealing doma only removed the restrictions due to gender not relation.
