Heathrow->Norwich and Heathrow-> Liverpool - fastest possible transportation?
I need some help concerning the fastest means of transport. In October (Fridays) I am going to visit 2 concerts. One Friday in Norwich, one in Liverpool.
But as I have to work Fridays I will not be able to arrive in Heathrow any earlier than 4.30. What would then be the fastest way to get to those 2 towns? Train? Car (I've never driven in the UK, but I imagine at those times there would be quite some traffic jams, right?)
I would really appreciate your help!!
Thanks a lot, the hint with Manchester Airport is great, there are even flights that suit my purpose perfectly!!

Arriving Heathrow 4:30, fastest to Norwich would be Heathrow Express train and Tube to Liverpool St station, then fast train to Norwich. You would arrive at Norwich station about 8 pm earliest.
To Liverpool, Heathrow Express and Tube to Kings Cross station, fast train to Liverpool, you would arrive about 9 pm.
Driving will take a lot longer as the motorways are always full on Friday afternoon and evening, particularly round London. By the way, the trains are always full on Fridays too.
I suggest you will have to leave work early or take holiday, so you can get to Heathrow at least three hours earlier. Or think about different flights - Norwich has an airport with some useful connections (lots of Schiphol flights) - Liverpool has an airport with some flights, Manchester has a lot of flights and is much nearer L'pool than Heathrow is

The train is the fastest way to get from Heathrow to Norwich. Driving in London is very time-consuming and taxis can be expensive; there are always traffic jams in London. From Heathrow, take the Heathrow Express to Paddington. At Paddington, change to the London Underground. Take the Circle Line or the Hammersmith & City Line to Liverpool Street. At Liverpool Street, take a Greater Anglia train to Norwich.
Same with getting to Liverpool. Take the Heathrow Express to Paddington. Change to the Underground; take the Circle Line or the Hammersmith & City Line to Euston Square, which is a short distance from Euston. Walk to Euston station and you can catch a train to Liverpool. Virgin Trains is the fastest.

You can save money by booking well in advance for specifically timed trains via the websites above. Booking opens 11 weeks before your journey. Allow 75 minutes from Heathrow to Liverpool Street and 60 minutes to Euston.
Traffic is horrendous on British motorways and worse still on Friday evenings. Are you flying into Heathrow from another country? The nearest international airport and a short train ride from Liverpool
is Manchester Airport.Norwich has a very small airport served by very few European destinations and Stansted is closer than Heathrow. Train Stansted to Norwich via Cambridge www.nationalrail.co.uk
