Help making a sound sensitive LED circuit?

OK so here's what i want to do. I want to make a LED circuit that turns on and off with sounds, its for a Dj mask so it must have adjustable sensitivity for different volume levels.

I have basic theoretical knowledge in circuits (i can work with resistors, i know kirchoffs laws and I've never worked with capacitors and spires, but i know how to on paper). what I really need to know is how to make it work with sounds and how to do the adjustable sensitivity thing, but a general overview of what else to do wouldnt kill me

I have no idea what a "spire" is in electronics terms, but anyway... what I would suggest is that you start with an inexpensive kit and then mod it to your needs. The Velleman K4304, 4305, 4306, or 4307 are quite good and one of them should be a close match to what you want.

Adjustable sensitivity is just a matter of a divider pot on the input.

If you want it to work from a microphone instead of a direct connection, add one of their mic preamp kits and a cheap condenser mic (about $2).

i've got not performed this actual synth myself. yet based on the specifications you have listed, besides as different bits i've got study, this synth would desire to do the trick. And from what I convey at the same time, the format is incredibly hassle-free and easy to make a decision, particularly whilst you're new to synthesizers. to not complicate concerns, yet some ought to argue that this would not be sufficient. The "purist" view might say, case in point, which you opt for for a genuine Oberheim to get Van Halen's "leap" sound. and that they do have a ingredient. many extra modern-day synths don't have a similar heat tone that the classics have, yet until you're in that purist physique of concepts, the Novation will do wonderful.
