2000 Volkswagon jetta - Will Hesitate and jerk into gear when a cold start and then bee fine?
2000 Jet ta = After the car has sat all night and first started - i will pull out of the driveway and it will hesitate and jerk into gear - it just happens 1 time and then it will be fine the rest of the day. next morning it starts all over.
Any ideas?

Given that the Jetta was sold in 2000 with a normal automatic gearbox, this shouldn't be normal.

I assume you are american and that your jetta has an automatic gearbox, right?
Given that the Jetta was sold in 2000 with a normal automatic gearbox, this shouldn't be normal. The fact, that the gearbox isn't working correctly when cold indicates that there is something wrong with the transmission fluid. Has it ever been changed?
It's possible that the quality of the fluid degraded over the time due to usage. Check with your local VW dealership, if it needs to be replaced.

First of all, changing the ATF may not be a bad idea, considering it is 13 years old.
Second is that you should let it run, warm up a bit, and build up ATF pressure before putting it in gear.
Third is that you can't be sure it is the tranmission, because it could be the engine simply looses power and coughs because it is running too lean from the cold condensing the fuel in the intake walls.
