Can I burn Yankee candles in the same room as my budgie?

Question

Now don't have a go at me, I have held off burning my Yankee candles and any candles for that matter since I got my budgie. I have read that candles are toxic for budgies, BUT I have also read that someone emailed the Yankee candle company and since they use cotton wicks it is safe. I don't know what to believe or do, as I care for my budgie he is my first priority, but I also have candles that are collecting dust and I would like to burn. I won't burn them however til I have an answer, if I can't, I will have to find an alternative burning them in another room or something. The reason I'm asking this is because I've found two different answers.

No do not burn any Candle where you have birds, Yankee Candles contain perfume which is the main cause of bird deaths by the fumes that come from them , the wick is cotton but it is not the wick that is the problem, it is the perfume within the wax and manufacture,

You can burn them in another room but Not where your bird is.

I wouldn't if i were you birds are known to develop respiratory  infections from the simplest things and the scent from a candle can defiantly harm your bird . its not the wic but the scent. Another thing is make sure not to spray anything around the bird air freshener , perfume . you would be safer burning it in a different room if you must . good luck with your bird

I use a candle warmer. I still get the nice smell but it hasn't affected my cockatiel at all. I wouldn't burn any candles but its your bird, if you do just keep an eye on him to make sure he isn't having a hard time breathing.

Put the bird on a rotisserie instead of over a candle.
