Why cant men remain friends+?

Why would a Men want a Woman for friend? Why? What's the point?. Friendship between Men and women is acceptable if both aren't attracted to each other and both wanna help each other (Collegues on college for example), Other than that it becomes more than friendship (Or not).

As a general rule guys can't just be friends with a female. That is especially true when the guy gets older. Why would he waste time doing that when he already tried that in his younger days and found it never turned out good.

Trust me, us guys don't try to get in to a "friend" relationship with a woman that we are not trying to bang. Although sometimes we are able to control ourselves however we are always willing to if the opportunity arises.
