UP THE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
I asked a question before but it got removed because it was attacking a user on this site (everyone would know the Crows supporter I'm referring to) so I'll go again without the attack:
What does everyone have to say about Port Adelaide's emphatic comeback? 31 points down in the third quarter to go on to win the game. Critics can no longer say "we only beat Melbourne and GWS" because we've claimed a decent scalp tonight. With Gold Coast next week, that's a no excuse game so can't lose that, and West Coast at AAMI who honestly aren't playing that well. But...I won't get ahead of myself, I'll enjoy this Showdown victory to my possible fullest.
Another question, which comeback was better? Essendons or Ports?
@Meth, you know what. Great answer! A little bit of respect earned just then by you. So far in 2013, we have only claimed one decent scalp, that being your mob. Beating Melbourne and GWS won't get you anything, but a win like that over Adelaide will. Gold Coast next week, last time we won a Showdown we had a hangover the next week and handed GC their first ever AFL win. Fingers crossed that won't happen again, but if we are to beat them then they won't be much of a scalp either.
However, the club is definitely a lot better off and more professionally run. That's David Koch for you. Membership is at a record high, we're on the verge on 40,000 and even Patty Dangerfield was saying how deafening the Black, White & Teal army were last night I hear. If we don't lose next week then we can expect a crowd of over 30,000 against West Coast the week after.
Have we played our GF already? Fair question, I for one would sure hope not. I've heard a bit of talk about Por
t playing finals in 2013, and even about them being the real deal. I'll be the first to rubbish those claims as it is very early days. We've still got some big games to come this season, like another Showdown, a home game against Collingwood and a Saturday Night game in Melbourne, which is a spotlight the club haven't be in for a number of years now.
Seeing as you've been on here for the past few years ridiculing the PAFC, So revenge was pretty sweet last night, but I don't want a repeat of 2011 where we won the Showdown then went on to lose to Gold Coast. NO EXCUSES next week, we got to beat Gold Coast, survive that one more "easy game" until we get some better competition over the next few weeks like West Coast, North, Richmond, Carlton, and Geelong.
I was having a go at you when asking the questions, no doubt, but you did earn a bit of respect with that answer...a bit!

I have no idea who your previous question was targeted at, however, let me be your guest for now. Sure it was a good win and a scalp of sorts, I will give you that. Your team was able to lift when required and they seemed to have more energy and more intensity at the ball. At the end of the day the PAFC wanted the win more than the POSA. Guys like The Hoff, Winey, Neady, Boaky and even freaking Monfries played the game of their LIFE just to beat their cross town rivals.... So yes... let me tip my hat off to you and your mob *tips hat*!
HOWEVER... let me qualify that by saying this: Your club hasn't proved JACK SHITE! Critics will still have plenty to say (because their @ssholes lack the contractile power to prevent shite from spilling out), though I've never been one to pay any credence to their opinions anyway. So I suggest you do the same.
Having said that let me now take this opportunity to throw some of my feces across the bridge! The problem is that in recent history your club and your fan base have had very little to play for. It was fortuitous that you had a Rnd 3 showdown to energize the club and the fans, thus giving your club a 3-0 start. However, you haven't proved yourself to be a genuine club with the heart to play out a full season yet. 3 games (including a showdown victory) does not erase the disgrace of the previous couple of years at the PAFC. A good turn out at a showdown does not undo the pathetic turn out that your club was met with over the last two seasons.
It seems the PAFC and it's players need a big kick in the backside to get themselves motivated and up and running and playing good footy (e.g. the loss of a team mate) and it seems your fans need a showdown to get them out of their pub stools, out of their filthy stained couches to make their way down to West Lakes to support what we assume is "their" team. So the big question that remains is this: Has your club (with their enthusiastic rookies, and some of the seniors playing better footy for 3 rounds so far) played it's GF already?
Maybe the real difference between the PAFC and the POSA is that perhaps the former have already shot their load, whereas the latter are still fumbling around trying to get the bra undone and the pants off.
Edit - How gracious of you!... I hope you realize that it's difficult for me to dish out crap at you when you are being so gracious. Maybe you do realize this and this is your clever way of disarming me! But don't worry I wont make it easy for you to gain too much respect for me!
And yes it would have been nice to engage with you in that question before it was deleted (I knew it was for me!) but oh well! There are spoil sports within Y!A who are conceited enough to think they have some moral authority over how we conduct ourselves on here.
And yes I'm sure that was a sweet victory and made even more sweeter by what was apparently a larger than usual build up in the days preceding the showdown. Then you add that with a 31 point come from behind victory in the context of a new look club (with new admin, new coaching and some exciting young players) at a home game with a large crowd that offered a finals like atmosphere... Yes, damn it!... It was a huge victory for PAFC and their supporters and conversely a harsh loss for the POSA and every faithful 19th man out there.

A+ as I bear in mind those vehicles and the muscle vehicles. Mine became a 1970 SS396 with 375HP engine. Brother in regulation took the engine out and blueprinted it. crucial that one have a rapidly, long highway on which to "try". My moms and dads had a 1961 Chevy Nomad Station Wagon plus a 1968 Ford usa Squire Station Wagon=======8kids. We additionally had a Chevy 1956 i've got self assurance which had an plane variety ornament on the hood. I slid off after washing it and cut back my foot requiring 4 stitches. This became the kind that had the gasoline tank filler interior the rear left tail-gentle, if i'm remembering properly. those vehicles have been incredibly basic to artwork on.

Excellent, excellent result for the Power. Just looked like they wanted it more - and Westhoff is in the form of his life. Not that it's all him though, its players like Monfries, Boak, Wines, Wingard etc. that have all stepped up. Their backline is looking more solid and they are playing a much better brand of footy.
There are really no easy games this year (except for Melbourne and GWS). And to a lesser extent, bulldogs.
Nah really good game, good comeback, was probably more exciting than the Essendon comeback just because Port Adelaide had the crowd, where as the Essendon game was scrappy and in Freo.
Quelle(n): Congrats on the win, however, remember it is a marathon - This port side is great, but wait until they come against Hawthorn, or Geelong, or Collingwood - I do think these are the games that will define how good they truly are. - shiftyLv 6vor 8 Jahren
I'm just happy for the loyal Port supporters who have copped a fair bit over the last couple of footy seasons. but due to some very good recruiting by the club, players, coaching staff, management, the club is slowly getting it's act together. good stuff!
Can't give answer to your B.Q. as i didn't get to watch all of these 2 games. but did tip Port to defeat the Crows yeah!
Cheers.

Perfect start to the season mate. What more could ya ask for? 3-0 is just magnificent for a team that's developing. I certainly am jealous no doubt lol, looking at our record which stands at 1-2.
Looking forward to Round 5 when we meet you guys at Ammi Stadium! Hopefully we gain back
Sharrod Wellingham, Eric Mackenzie and Matt Rosa till then!

Yeah - right up 'em. (Sorry, that's the standard come back to that line)
It'll be really nice to be able to stop feeling sorry for Port and start putting doo-doo all over them again :-). You couldn't do it without a Cat-Boy at the helm of course bwahaha

Does this mean now that Kochie can take those massive covers off the seats at the ground? ;)
