Laptop cursor moving by itself?

So I turned on my laptop today and the cursor keeps moving towards the top of the screen and then to the left hand corner. I even had it on yesterday and it worked fine and it has never done this. I did a full norton system scan and said it fixed all problems but it is still the same and it is very frustrating because it takes me ages to click on something. When I leave it for a while, it goes to normal but it seems like the more I use it the worse it gets. Has anyone else experienced this?

I do t know if its just my laptop or a virus. Can anyone please help?

    ignore concerning the stupid people. And those who say that is a virulent disease ( this isn't any longer ) this is not unusual for a quite defective "contact pad" to reason random moves of the MOUSE cursor, yet for the TYPING cursor to randomly bypass round is amazingly brilliant. I take it that the typing cursor basically strikes to bits of the container you're really typing in, or does it bypass to any random position on the demonstrate ? i will examine again to be certain in case you upload any extra information.
