Zero water brand filter problems?

Question

Have a zero water brand filter. Worked great for a few weeks but now tastes slightly acidic, and the meter it comes with is now tripple what my tap water was. Googled it and saw others have similar issues. Before I toss it, just wanted to make sure this isn't something I did.

Where are you located or what is the tds score of your tap water?  Mine works great.  You are supposed to change the filter once your reading gets to 006 and thats probably why you have a taste.  But if you are in a really high tds area it might make better sense to buy distilled water because filtering can be expensive if you have really bad water to start with.  The amount of time your filter lasts depends on how much junk you have to filter out actually - and once the filter is full of junk, its time to change it.  I love zerowater - its the only filter to remove everything. :)
