I got a speeding ticket in a school zone in Pennsylvania. He said I was going 30 in a 15?
How much of a fine will this be? Should I say not guilty and fight it. Also how many points?

Lets start out with something VERY basic. Were you going MORE THAN 15 MPH in a school zone? If you were. you are GUILTY. That about says it all. If you go to Court, You MIGHT be able to work a deal a plead gulty to only go five MPH over the limit. That will not give you any ponts, and a significantly lower fine than you will get for being found guilty of 15 MPH over the limit.
I don't know if you have kids, but those of us who do want people to SLOW DOWN in school zones.
(b) School zones.--When passing through a school zone as defined and established under regulations of the department, no person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than 15 miles per hour. An official traffic-control device shall indicate the beginning and end of each school zone to traffic approaching in each direction. Establishment of a school zone, including its location and hours of operation, shall be approved by the department.
Penalty.--
(1) Any person violating any provision of this section commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay:
(i) Except as set forth under subparagraph (ii), a fine of $35.
(ii) For a violation of subsection (b), a fine of not more than $500 if the person exceeds the maximum speed limit by more than 11 miles per hour.
(2) Any person exceeding a maximum speed limit established under this section by more than five miles per hour shall pay an additional fine of $2 per mile for each mile in excess of five miles per hour in excess of the maximum

I'm not an expert, but it looks like a lot; this is from the PA DOT:
§ 3365. Special speed limitations...
(b) School zones.–When passing through a school zone as defined and established under regulations of the department, no person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than 15 miles per hour. An official traffic-control device shall indicate the beginning and end of each school zone to traffic approaching in each direction. Establishment of a school zone, including its location and hours of operation, shall be approved by the department.
(d) Penalty.–
(1) Any person violating any provision of this section commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay:
(i) Except as set forth under subparagraph (ii), a fine of $35.
(ii) For a violation of subsection (b), a fine of not more than $500 if the person exceeds the maximum speed limit by more than 11 miles per hour.
Note: It also carries three points.

Don't fight it. Its pointless. Most of the time, 90%, the government wins these fights. Especially since its in a school zone. Plus, if he clocked you going 30, you were probably going 30. I guess slow it down! I have had plenty of tickets. So im def experienced with this! lol
