How do I join my areas Police Explorer Post?

My recent question was deleted so I am re-posting.

Ever since I was younger, I knew that I wanted to become a police officer but when I figured out that I would barely make any money and have to get tasered in order to become one, I changed my mind. I researched jobs that are in the medical field because they make a lot of money and won't have to look that far to get a job. I wanted to be an anesthesiologist, then an internist, and finally a pharmacist because they made a decent amount of money and that way I would never have to want for something really bad because my family has been struggling to make ends meet and I also want to be able to help others After spending a lot of time thinking it over, I just couldn't see myself being in the medical field. I wanted a job that I would love doing every day and that it won't feel like a job, so my interest in becoming a police officer came back. I was doing some research on what I had to do in order to be the best officer I could be, and I saw that my area had a Police Explorer Post that I could join that would really help me. I looked up how I could join but I could not find anything that told me how. How am I supposed to join my areas Police Explorer Post? And if you have any other information that you could provide me about being a police officer, your help would be greatly appreciated. And right now I'm thinking of either going to California, New Jersey, or New York to be a police officer. I already know that I shouldn't major in Criminal Justice because I'm just going to learn the same thing when I go to the training. What would be the best thing for me to major in?

Sorry for it being so long but I want as much information as possible so that I am well prepared for my future. Thanks in advance for any information that you give me. It is greatly appreciated. :)

Update:

I mean how do I get a form or something because I don't even know who I am supposed to contact.

If you are interested in becoming a police officer, you should definitely become a law enforcement explorer if you can. Being a law enforcement explorer is great for youths that want to become police officers. You should check the websites of the law enforcement agencies in your area. If you can't find any information about explorer programs there, call your local police department, and ask to speak with someone. If they don't have an explorer program, ask them if any agencies in your area do. Your local sheriff's department or office or state police agency might have one you could join. Some federal agencies such as the Border Patrol also have explorer programs. Don't let possibly having to experience the Taser keep you from trying to become an officer if that is what you want to do. It is true that is is important that you enjoy your job. Law enforcement officer pay varies, sometimes a lot, depending on the agency. When considering pay, you should also consider benefits and cost of living. Focus on your education. Get the best grades that you can in school. Take classes that interest you, that will improve your writing skills, that require critical thinking, and that will prepare you for college. Definitely get a college degree. Getting a college degree is one of the best things that you can do. Many agencies require or prefer applicants to have college. Some agencies pay their officers more if they have a degree. Having a degree could also help you get promoted during your career. Choose a major that interests you, that is marketable, and that could be useful for police work. There are many majors that are good for police officers and people that want to become police officers. Accounting, communications, computer science, a foreign language, and psychology are some examples. When choosing a major, consider what area you might want to specialize in if given the chance to as a law enforcement officer, consider what you might want to do if you can't become an officer or decide not to become an officer, and consider what you might want to do as a side job or after you retire if you become an officer. Whatever major you choose, make the most of your time and money. Get the highest grade point average that you can, participate in a couple extracurricular activities, get a good internship, do some regular volunteer work, don't do anything illegal, and maintain a good reputation. Best of luck!

Find out if there is a post in your area and when and where they have their meetings. then you just go to a meeting and let them know you wish to join. I have worked with Explorers from our department's post and from a city in our district, If there had been police explorers when I came of age to make the move, I would have been in scouts a lot longer. It is a great program. Good luck.

The tasing last for a total of about 5 seconds, the wage is a living wage, if you are wise with your money and don't make stupid financial decisions.
