OFF-TOPIC: What music is everyone into, and two songs that mean a bit to you?
Well known user Big Kev has been asking some off-topic question during the off-season, which I think is a good way to keep this small community occupied when there is no footy on.
So I'd thought I'd ask an off-topic questuon of my own, what music do we all look? I like metalcore/harcore. Bands in particular are Papa Roach (favorite), Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon, Parkway Drive and Capture the Crown.
Two songs that I love:
'Where Did The Angels Go?' by Papa Roach - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg0mp3xcRVk
'Visions' by Bring Me The Horizon - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuQW1vkDA1c
So, what music do well all like, and post two songs that you like.
Richmond Faithful...OMG I LOVE YOU!!!! Papa Roach are awesome! There's very few people I know that like them, so finally good to come across another one :)

I grew up in an era when music was real. I love the drum solo's, the guitar riffs, the sound of the bass guitar and obviously the singer's voice
Hard Rock and Rock music I enjoy the most. .
Bands such as Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, KISS, Deep Purple, and DIO...gets me pumpin'. These groups I call super bands, and there's band like U2, Bon Jovi and Wolfmother, that I like, but just not the same way as the previous ones I mentioned.
I can't just pick any 2 songs...I love them alll really, some get over played on radio, some to get a mention.
Most popular songs I guess would have to be Led Zep's "Stairway to Heaven" and "I was made for Lovin' you" by KISS. The most over killed songs on Triple M.
Quelle(n): Edit ..... I'm into the 50's & 60's as well, love the music from that era. For my 40th Birthday....we had a Rock "n" Roll feature night. From the constumes people worn to the hall set out to to look like a 60's restaurant (like Arnolds from Happy Days) Edit @ Bingalee....Lol. - LexicographerLv 6vor 8 Jahren
Ditto BigKev's opening sentence, and in fact I have just waited until the end of 4BH's Saturday Night Bandstand with Jamie Mac which has followers world wide who request 50' & 60's songs every week.
Favourite tonight for me was Light My Fire by the Doors but all time favourite for personal reasons is the John Laws version of Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast.
My other musical love is trucking songs.... the beat....the stories... the humour... the emotion from Black Smoke A-blowing over 18 Wheels, to Constable Birds Speed Trap, to Thank God and Greyhound, to Red Sovine's Teddy Bear or the Phantom 309. Of my 400 odd vinyl LPs half are trucking & more than half Australian.
I just like to enjoy the content without a cacophony of over-decibel electronic gadgetry.

My opinion of music snobbery: If it is reasonable, and can be fully justified by the "snob", then I think it is fine. If someone criticizes a band, but manages to objectively justify their opinions (such as saying the Jonas Brothers suck because of their lack of talent), I believe it is fine. What really annoys me is when people unreasonably demonstrate their music snobbery when, at the same time, they also show how little they actually know about music (such as saying a band sucks and, when asked to justify that opinion, they cop out by using the "it's an opinion" excuse). I also dislike it when people generalize genres simply based on what little they hear on the radio. Still, I think there's a time and place for everything. If you were asking a perfectly reasonable question, I don't think even the reasonable music elitists should interfere. I understand how annoying it can be.

Everything from Vivaldi to Eminem but most times you'll hear me listening to the sort of stuff Big Kev mentioned.
Favourite songs? Flame Trees by Cold Chisel reminds me of leaving home in Newcastle many years ago.
Lose yourself by Eminem - I used it as a mantra when I set up my now thriving consulting business.
I like Regina Speckter and Jack White of today's artists.

Most hip hop, rap, rock, instrumental guitar, drum & bass even some dubstep I don't mind.
Big fan of - Pendulum, Childish Gambino, Wiz Khalifa, Flume, Macklemore, Dr. Dre, Eric Johnson and Rise Against (I have a feeling you would like Rise Against Hamish)
2 songs of significance to me - Thrift Shop by Macklemore/Ryan Lewis - reminds me of Schoolies this year and - When the sun meets the Sky by Eric Johnson - just a good easy listening thinking song
