Is incessant hunger apart of being raw vegan?

I just eat and eat and yet I'm always hungry. What am I doing wrong? I eat a lot of fruits, nuts, and some veggies. I'm also trying to gain weight and this isn't working...

Update:

I'm eating at this very moment and the hunger just will not abate...

LOLwut is right, fats will help you feel fuller, BUT....You also need plenty of PROTEIN, and that is hard to get on a raw vegan diet. I would suggest being vegan but not raw, it's much easier to get protein that way and therefore, is healthier (IMHO).......Beans, tofu, tempeh, lentils and such are all great sources of vegan protein. Peanut butter is too!

LOL! You have to eat A LOT on a raw vegan diet. You can use www.cronometer.com to track your calorie intake. Aim for about 3,000 calories a day.

Fruit is easy to digest, and thus goes through our bodies relatively fast. It's not meant to keep you feel for long, it's meant to keep you healthy.

And being raw vegan will make you whatever weight your body should be. IF you're eating enough and eating right, whatever weight you are is what is right for you. Pay attention to how you feel, not how you look. Some people will gain weight if they need it or lose weight if they need it.

I tried being raw, but I didn't have the money to buy as much food as I needed to eat- so I got hungry and angry and ate tacos.

IF you're just starting off with the raw diet, give it some time. It will take a few days at the very least for your body to get used to it.

If it becomes too much, most people recommend eating a clean cooked diet first for a few months- brown rice, fresh potatoes, fresh beans, etc. Nothing prepackaged and no animal products. Everything fresh. Then, change half of your diet to raw for a few months, and THEN try 100% raw again. Just make sure you eat enough, and drink plenty of water to help keep you full and hydrated!

It's good to eat. So, keep eating!

Stick with the nuts, frutis and veggies. But, also add some bean-based items and some homemade peanut butter.

The longer you do a vegan diet the easier it gets to feel full. You just have to adjust your stomach to the changes you are making to your diet.

    1) probably no fats in your diet, fat isn't bad its necessary for human health. Regardless of the raw foodist brigades pseudo science.

    2) eating calorie sparse vegetables but overestimating your calorie intake ie you are probably undereating

    3) mere hunger for other foods.

Fats are what satiate (make you feel full and satisfied).

Try eating lots of avocadoes, and up the nuts!
