What do you think of these lyrics?

Hey guys, just writing some stuff and wanted to hear some feedback. It's no where near done (only the first two verses), but where do you see this going? What comes to mind when you read it?

Here goes:

do you know that feeling of anticipation

when something bad is about to happen

reason upon reason why you shouldn't be so thrilled

but you can't help yourself diving in headfirst

this is a slippery slope we're on, dead before it began

but how can you derail when you never had a path?

that leads to one conclusion, so you do the math

I still feel it in my bones, what's done is past

just pitch some ideas - what images come to mind? I know where I'm going but I guess I'd like to see if I'm just imagining things haha
